Have you had a chance to check out the new Podium Stadium in Downtown Spokane? The new sports venue was hard fought for. Original votes rejected the initiative, and later, the location was hotly contested.
At long last, The Podium is hosting world-class sporting events in Downtown Spokane! Spokane has a long history of hosting news-worthy local, national, and international events. Take Hoopfest, for example - it’s the largest outdoor 3-on-3 basketball tournament in the world, hosted right here in Downtown Spokane. We are also home to Spike and Dig, one of the world’s largest co-ed outdoor 6-on-6 volleyball tournaments.
Now, Spokane is well-positioned to break into the world of indoor sports, too. And if February is to be any indication, it looks like The Podium is hitting the ground running!
Here are just a few of the upcoming events at The Podium:
February 3–5, 2022
Intense competition will transpire this weekend as Friday will feature open athletes, and Saturday competition will heat up with a condensed meet with competitive standards and limited heat sizes.
February 18-19, 2022
Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) will bring its Indoor Track and Field Championships to The Podium in February. Fifteen teams, from 10 universities including the Big West and West Coast Conference, will compete February 18–19, 2022.
February 20–22, 2022
The Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) and Spokane Sports are partnering to bring the conference’s indoor track & field championships to Spokane. The two entities have entered into an agreement to hold the conference championships from 2022 to 2024.
February 26–27, 2022
This weekend event serves as the National Championship for indoor track & field athletes in the United States, and will be broadcast on NBC. From sprinters and distance runners, to throwers and pole vaulters, 450 of our country's best track & field athletes will compete at the event.
Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test is required for this event.
All guests 12 years of age and older must show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 OR proof of a negative FDA-approved molecular (e.g., PCR) or antigen COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the event. Please click HERE for additional details.
